The beginning of Dallas buyers’ club involves a man named Ron having a threesome with 2 different women, during a rodeo event. One of his friends mentions that he doesn’t understand why Ron has to have so much sex with prostitutes just to feel relevant in this world. It’s obvious to see that this man is somewhat of a hustler and is caught in a routine on getting over on people, and makes every effort to win even if he loses. Such as a particular scene when Ron makes a bet hoping his friend at a rodeo to ride a bull for eight seconds or longer. When Ron’s friend falls off he clearly try’s to run away instead of being a man and paying what he owes. He runs to a police officer and asks him to arrest him and eventually punches him just so he can get away. Next scene he arrives at his home and that is where he and his friend are getting ready to have an orgy with two different women. Ron looks at a calendar and comes to terms that he has thirty days to live. He chooses not to have sex at this moment. Few moments later he meets the female dr. who he quickly will build a bond with. They both discuss how a sugar pill may be able to treat him, and he is telling her about the research he has done for medication that are in other countries that have been approved by the FDA. Ron realizes soon that he is no longer in a circle of his friends in a bar because they have made fun of him for having aids. And everyone is scared to be around him. Ron slightly turns from having sexual orgies to be in strip clubs doing cocaine, and drinking liquor. Ron also meets a janitor who works at the hospital and makes arrangements with him to sneak him pills for money, until he runs out.
