We are often judged by our appearance and then tucked into a category that defines us. In the essay, “Disability” by Nancy Mairs she elaborates we live in a world where our view of others is influenced by what the media presents. For example, teenagers are often stereotyped as impulsive, immature and careless. To emphasize, teenagers are often represented as impulsive. We are all connected to the media in some way, and that makes it easy to keep up with all of the latest news and trends.
