November 6, 2015 Rationale The purpose of the following article is to exhibit a satirical style of journalism known as “gonzo”, created and popularized by Hunter S. Thompson, to analyze the effects of Donald Trump’s usage of language on his candidacy for president of America and to portray them in a humorous way. My interest for this subject was sparked from class discussions on the influences of language on an individual’s mind, at which point I came across an article on the Washington Post titled “How Donald Trump’s language works

T IS A WONDER TO ME how folks take this man seriously. Donald Trump, the man who spent half his life talking gibberish and the other half bragging about his own success. If Americans actually paid attention to the crap he utters during his press conferences and speeches, they would realize that we might as well elect another George Bush rather than electing his spoiled whiny bastard Donald Trump. Even now, I imagine the horrifying vision of Trumptopia; an irresolute place led by smug Old Man Jenkins wearing straw-hair atop his head.

Take for instance the tweet he sent out only April of this year:
“Our great African American President hasn't exactly had a positive impact on the thugs who are so happily and openly destroying Baltimore!”
So Donald Trump transitioned from being rude to plain racist, calling our current president a Jim Crow and blaming him for the riots. At this rate, it seems that the authoritative and egocentric nature of Trump is quite fitting for him to become the president of the next Ku Klux Klan, not America.
It seems that every time the Donald plans to tread on unlevelled ground, he ends up toppling over; and for those who are wondering, I am admittedly referring to Trump and Tonic and Trump Shuttle, disasters that he failed to exploit throughout the ages. For anyone who has known Donald Trump for as long as I have, they know that he is self-possessed tomcat chasing after a mouse that he can’t wrap his claws around. As for the new generation that are only hearing Trump speak for the first time, they are only beginning to
