On November 9th, 2016 Donald Trump was elected our president. Popular vote did not elect him, he only won by the electoral college. His campaign brought out hate and fear throughout the nation. There has been several protests to the Women’s March and the protests of the immigration ban. Even today many are still protesting his stay in office. He has made himself the topic of news and social media alike and has become the butt of everyone’s joke. He has turned into popular “memes” and funny pictures instead of the leader of our country. His claims of wanted a united country has become a lost cause to many and fallen on deaf ears. He is constantly using his own personal twitter and other outlets to give his opinion. Giving his opinion is not a bad thing, on the contrary it’s a good thing, but some of the things he says come off the wrong way. He comes off as unprofessional to most. The phrase we know him best for now “fake news”(Trump 17) has spread like wildfire. Every chance he gets he is chastising a news outlet for saying something negative about him. With no real proof on how outlets like CNN or The Times are fake this comes across as an abuse of power. Trying to silence any media or person that speaks ill will or against him while he praises the media that supports him. With this tactic, he is slowly turning the outlets that supported him away. This strategy is seen in many other government regimes like north Korea, Turkey, and more. He has even gone as far as to ordered a media blackout on his own cabinet. His gross misuse of the media continues. When the immigration ban failed, he reprimanded judge James Robart calling him a “so called judge”(Trump 04) and saying he would “see him in court.”(Trump 09) These claims have been seen by many as unprofessional and worrying. The media has not been Donald Trump’s friend throughout his campaign and presidency, It will continue to be that way until he can get his act together and start addressing the media and people with the respect they
