“When somebody challenges you, fight back. Be brutal, be tough” (Donald J. Trump). This quote from Trump shows that he is not afraid to back down from a challenge and holds his ground on his views. In this year’s tumultuous race for the presidential election, there are many topics candidates must cover and have ‘favorable’ stances on them; some of the most pertinent topics are reforming immigration, health care and gun laws. Donald Trump will make a great president due to his views on immigration, health care reform and gun laws, so therefore he deserves to win the election in November.

There are many views on how to deal with such a big problem and Mr. Trump has the best view on it. He states that, “There must be a wall across the southern border (of the United States)...(and I will) make Mexico pay for the wall” (Donald J. Trump Positions). Making Mexico pay for the wall will keep the approximately 76,000 violent aliens out and keep $22 billion from bad trade deals and remittances from illegal immigrants here in America (Donald J. Trump Positions). Keeping the illegals out will help the domestic job market, allowing the economy to grow. Also, the $22 billion will help rejuvenate a wavering economy and help lower the national debt. Texas Senator Ted Cruz is Mr. Trump’s number one competitor. He is an evangelical, far-right conservative who has raised the eyebrows of many voters. Though his views on immigration, health care reform and gun laws are practically the same as Mr. Trump’s there are some stances on some serious issues that Sen. Cruz has which will be detrimental to America if he is elected. He wants to defund Planned Parenthood and prosecute it in a criminal court, stating that they are, “bartering and selling the body parts of human beings” (Ted Cruz on the Issues). Defunding Planned Parenthood would reduce the access women have to a safe abortion, or other services they provide drastically; putting essentially half of the nation at risk. A woman has the right to do whatever she wants to with her body. So therefore, if a woman wants an abortion, she should have access to a safe, secure, confidential abortion. Another flaw in Cruz’s beliefs is that religion should trump government. He says, “Our rights do not come from government. They come from God.” (Issues | Cruz for President).
