E.B White was one of the most influential American Writer of all time. In fact, William Shawn, editor of the New Yorker, said “ E.B White was a great essayist, a supreme stylist. His literary style was as pure as any in our language. His quiet influence, several generations of this country’s writers write better than they might have done. He never wrote a careless or mean sentence. He was imperious to literary, intellectual and political fashion. His writing was timeless, and ageless. He graduated from Cornell University in 1921, then 5 or 6 years later, he joined the staff of The New Yorker magazine. He was leading american essayist, humorist, poet and literary. He has won countless awards including the 1971 National Medal for literature, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal. He loved Children’s classics as Charlotte’s Web, Stuart little, and The Trumpet of the Swan. He has a big family, also he is the youngest. He found writing difficult and bad for disposition. E.B White once said “ That if his stories were true, he would send them to his fans. He had a barn with animals that he liked. His favorite essays were “Both Open”, “Two Letters” where White takes on the internal revenue service, and also bedfellows, with its reports.
