I have known about the early college program for a handful of years, but never thought much about it until this year. When I was younger, I always noticed my mom encouraging my older siblings to consider early college because she saw the program as a smart choice for their future and because of that, it has always been in the back of my mind. I am interested in the early college program to challenge myself with in-depth studies, jump-start my college career, and be around more like-minded people. One of the main reasons I would like to do early college is to challenge myself with in-depth classes. If I were to do early college for my senior year, I know I would be exposed to more challenging classes and school work, but they would help me gain more knowledge and understanding I would be able to use in the future. Another reason I would like to do early college is to jump-start my college career. This year I have had many differing thoughts about what I want to do after I graduate high school. For most of my life I have wanted to do college, but this year I have been debating college because I do not see a point in going if I do not know what I want to do as a career because (in my opinion) going without a focus is a waste of time and money. I believe if I were to do early college, the program would guide me and help me decide what I want to do for a career and whether or not I want to continue down the college path. Early College would jump-start my college career because doing the program would save me a year’s worth of college tuition and it would save me time as I would graduate high school with an associate's degree.
