In The Crucible, there are at least two characters who lie for reasons that can be related to The Death of a Salesman. Elizabeth Proctor lies to save her husband or at least that's what she thinks she is doing, just like Linda Loman. This part of the play was most interesting because her lie was meant to save her marriage and husband. We were taught that lying is morally wrong and unacceptable but Elizabeth did it out of good intentions. Nevertheless, does this make it fair and just? Abigail wanted everyone to tell the truth and that is how Abigail would play out her plan but Elizabeth took a stand and lied to the likes of her husband which made Abigail’s plan go awry.
