The everglades have benefits humans in many ways time and time again. People in the 1800's didn’t realize they have been destroying the everglades for the wrong reason. Even though back then they got disease from the everglades, now we simple medicine to compensate for that. The everglades has created jobs, a place for many different species of animals to live including 67 endangered species, and lessens storm and hurricane power to a point that it can save many lives. We the people as Floridians need to spend more time saving the everglades as it is how we live and get our recourses from.

These plants and animals don’t live everywhere in the world. Most of these organisms are only found in the everglades and 67 threatened or endangered animals inhabit the area. Humans can do loads of research on these different animals and plants because there is so much to study still. The endangered animals that live in the everglades will no longer be endangered but no longer because humans are destroying it. The everglades saves lives by lessening hurricane and storm winds and rain. The everglades absorbs some of the impact for neighboring cities to be protected. In 2005 Hurricane Katina caused 1800 casualties and 700 people dead. Some researches believe that these numbers could have been lowered if more of the everglades still existed. Many family's could have been with their entire family or in a home by doing noting but keeping in mind not to destroy the everglades by releasing their pets into the wild. Things like houses and family's were ripped apart in the storm and we can only can only hope next time a storm like that happens that some of the everglades will have been
