Being an African American Woman has really shaped who I am today and how I look at the world in a different perspective. I see inequality all around and often think how unfair it is that some people do not have the same equal opportunity to health care as others do. One quote that resonates with me is one that Dr. Martin Luther King once said “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.” We easily take for granted the opportunity to go to the dentist and even often neglect it when there are millions of people who wish for such an opportunity. Healthcare should not be something that people have to fight for and are being denied due to uncontrollable circumstances. I personally do not believe anyone should be denied healthcare because of not being able to pay for it. We live in a society that if you do not make a certain amount of money and do not have insurance options are not available to you which I think needs to change. It is one of those things that if you do not take the time to think about it and how it affects people all around the world it might never cross you mind. It will help to create a diverse health atmosphere by continuously coming up with ways to help improve the current health problems that we face. It will be a chance to take a step back by having a reality check that even though there is constantly new technology being developed to help in the health care system there is still many problems worldwide that have been pushed to the side. Simple accessible resources that often get overlooked are very essential in so many different parts of all over the world and if there was a way that in the health field we could furthermore help to provide those then the health care system would be improved
