Inequality in America is growing

Have you worked more than 40 hours a week and still do not believe you’re getting paid enough for your labor? America has been referred to as the land of opportunity but if people can't find a well paying job to support them today, would it be right to say we have lost some opportunity? This affects young adults and possibly businesses. If Americans don't have a good enough income they will spend more on needs than they will wants. This is a problem for both because without enough extra money coming in, they can't spend it on miscellaneous items. Businesses like video game stores and nail salons will loose customers, causing them to struggle more financially than usual. Marc Priester and Aaron Mendelson stated, “The top 1 percent of America’s income earners have more than doubled their share of the nation’s income since the middle of the 20th century”(1). Americans who put in at least 40 hours a week and meet job expectations should get paid $51,939 a year. If workers put in more than 40 hours and exceed job expectations they should be provided with bonuses.

They believe some adults work harder than others for their living and that some jobs are harder than others. That may be true however, every job has its difficulties, no job is easy. Some jobs require more work that's all factored on what you choose to forgo therefor, that doesn't make it right for someone to get paid more.
