With an increase in border control, there have been many more deaths which increases the danger of crossing the border. Therefore, undocumented immigrants who have to face the increased border control are putting their life at risk to cross the border. Documented immigrants do not have to put their life at risk and sneak across the border to get into the U.S. Since undocumented immigrants have to risk their life to sneak into the U.S. whereas documented immigrants do not, it is possible to conclude that undocumented immigrants are positively selected on risk-taking compared to documented immigrants.
