When you are stressed and anxious, isn’t it great to know that a variety of essential oils to calm and soothe are out there? What’s more, essential oils are easy to use—and fun, too!

When I am super stressed, sometimes all I can do is unscrew a bottle of oil and breathe in the aroma. However, there are many other ways to use easily use essential oils. Another method is to saturate a few cotton balls, put them in a small glass jar, and set it close to you, so that you can enjoy its aroma and therapeutic properties. You can also add essential oils to massage oil or the bath, allowing the oil to soak into your skin while the aroma of the oils enters the air.

Lavender

It’s amazing how often lavender is in the top ten lists for just about anything to do with essential oils. Lavender essential oil is so versatile, it should always be kept on hand. When it comes to stress, lavender is one of the best at helping you relax, and can also help you sleep.
Sweet Orange

Whether you are an adult or a child, sweet orange essential oil will help reduce stress and frustration, calm the mind and allow you to relax.
Ylang-Ylang

Ylang-ylang is great for balancing hormones and relieving tension. It’s perfect for lowering stress at the end of the day, as it will help you sleep. Ylang-ylang can also help relieve stress on the heart, including issues such as heart palpitations.
Rose or Clary Sage

These oils help relieve stress associated with hormones. Which oil you choose will depend on what stage of life you are in. If you suffer from premenstrual syndrome, rose essential oil is the best choice for calming and soothing. However, if you are going through or about to go through menopause, switch to clary sage essential oil.
