Eternity is defined as infinite or unending time. Eternity is used to emphasize the amount of time something will last. Now while this can be used positively to describe instances where one might be saying how long they will love another person, it can also be used negatively to describe moments that one may wish they could forget. In Tim O’Brien’s novel, The Things They Carried, both positive and negative cases take place.
