Isolation: How Much It’s Hurting Us

In the book “The Metamorphosis” by Franz Kafka, Gregor is a young man who financially supports his family. That is, until one day he wakes up to realize that overnight he was transformed into a bug. After waking up to find that he is this beetle contained within a shell, he goes into isolation, locking himself away from everyone. His family does not understand what is or has happened all while Gregor is unwilling to explain what it is that has occurred. Gregor ultimately sends himself into isolation containing himself within his room away from everyone around him.
