This may be caused by all the crimes that poor neighborhoods might have or may be due to their appearance, whatever it is it must stop because it’s become a problem due to people going to jail for non-dangerous crimes. Policing algorithms in Chapter 5 are the most dangerous because they use inaccurate information from poor neighborhoods about specific race groups, which then leads to unfairness and can be very fallible. Referring to the quote, many police are being placed where there are more crimes, which then may include poor neighborhoods due to racism because people of color have much higher rates of crimes than white people, which causes shorter life spans, higher crime rates, and aggressive policing. This indicates how our community is bad because we shouldn’t have over-policing in poor neighborhoods rather than having little to no policing in the rich neighborhoods due to not having “any crimes.” According to the article “Policing and Society” argues that “Chief Inspector and a predictive software developer acknowledged potential resistance to automating police work from officers using the technology” (Ajay Sandhu and Peter Fussey). This just might be the problem because then law enforcement can quickly move across a city without needing to patrol the locations, by using technology such as gamification.
