There was a landmark 1979 United States Supreme Court case of Fare v. Michael C. which this case dealt with due process. Due process is a legal proceeding for the protection of private rights of the litigants. During a robbery that occurred of a victim’s home Michael C. was implicated in a murder. When this crime occurred, the respondent Michael C. was sixteen-years-old and had been on probation every since he was twelve-years-old. When Michael C. was placed in custody by law enforcement he was taken back to the police station and interrogated by two police officers and the conversation was recorded.
