In Federalist 10, James Madison talked about how factions were dangerous to popular governments.
A faction is a group of people with a distinct political interest. Factions can create insecurity and uncertainty.
There are two ways to cure a faction. One is to remove its causes and the other is to control its effects. To remove its causes you have to destroy liberty and give everyone the same interests.
The biggest cause of factions is over property.
There are two different types of factions: majority and minority.
The minority faction is controlled by the majority faction. This is because the majority has more power and strength over the minority.
The majority faction is controlled by enlarging the people and creating representative government.
