Although most readers of Flowers for Algernon have argued that the book is better than the movie a closer examination shows that the movie is better than the book. It is about a 37 year old man that has limited mental capacity. He has surgery to make him smarter. He has a mouse that went through the same surgery as him. The mouse’s name is Algernon. Charly and Algernon race in a maze at the start; Algernon always wins. But then Charly gradually gets smarter and wins wins. Then Algernon starts to get dumber.
