A husband wakes up at 5 o’clock in the morning to shower and get ready for the job he goes to five to six days of the week for ten hours at a time, as he showers his wife wakes up to get his lunch ready for the day, and to get herself ready and the house in-line before she wakes the kids. They both continue to get ready, she then wakes the kids to get ready for school, here comes the grouchy and annoying yelling and arguing- everyone is already done with today and it's not even ten in the morning. Dad leaves for work and takes his personal vehicle with the gas he pays for himself and drives to work, mom takes the kids to the bus stop so she can get to work on time to bring in her half of the income. The more people living in your household, and more children you have dependent on your income, the more money you receive to help you cover the “extra costs.” In most of the research I did, the most common thing I found that people use their food stamps for is when they go to the convenience store, you can get a fountain soda and pay for it with the food stamps only if you do not put the straw in the lid. The customer was putting nice food items up on the belt and the cashier said, "I've never seen you buy those before, you always buy the store brand." The customer replied, "I'm done with that [expletive,] I've got food stamps now!"(Howard, Clark). Yum! the owners of Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Pizza Hut are working with USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) so more people can use their food stamps at these certain locations. Being able to buy fast food or junk food on a roadtrip with best friends should be a privilege- something that you earn. People in the working class earn their money by going to work everyday and paying their bills, and then they will take any money they have left to save for future use or buy a reward for their accomplishments that they haven’t spent all of their money yet. Budgeting is a necessary tool to maintain a family balance, it helps you find a happy medium in which you can live your life. It is very hard and very time consuming, but sectioning your money actually puts into picture how much money you do or don’t have. You are in control and know where all of your money is. Some people are very smart about their strategies and put extra or leftover money in savings or actually invest it to make more money for later use. By doing this you are reducing some of the everyday stress many people encounter, when you are in charge you determine what happens with it and if you want to splurge and spend a few dollars just to buy a coffee that you could have made at home yourself for a lot less money. By budgeting and knowing how and where your money is going, you are actually saving yourself money by not paying for the extra late fees they tack on even if it’s a day late.“Budgeting is the most basic and the most effective tool for managing your money. Budgeting also connotes that you have to give up and stop yourself from enjoying stuff. What budgeting actually does is clearly show you how you allocate your money and present you the choices on what stuff to enjoy Budgeting does not stop you from enjoying stuff, it ensures that you enjoy stuff when you want it”(Budgeting Income).
