The majority of people don’t believe fracking affects them, we fill our lives with arbitrary tasks, constantly forgetting that more things are important than just ourselves. Fracking seems like an abstract idea, almost as if it doesn’t exist or isn’t nearly as severe or as close to home as it is. The majority of people, if they know what fracking is in the first place, would not believe that fracking is there community or affects them in one way or another. It’s sad how people won’t just take the time to ensure the longevity and quality of the planet they are living on. I think it is the duty of every citizen on Earth to at least instill themselves with the knowledge of what is going on in the world today. This polluted flowback water has the possibility of flowing into the water that is being pumped and distributed to the citizens in the area. These innocent people could be drinking water harmful to them, without ever knowing, this is why providing water filters that can be easily attached to a sink, within the area, could be extremely beneficial and even save the lives of those who have the potential to be affected. When fracking companies come into an area they explain everything that is good about the process, but leave out all of the negatives that come along with it when proposing to build a drill in an area. How would people know that even their water could be affected when all they heard about was how much money fracking will bring in, how easy it all is, and how could even help gas prices? When you weigh the good with the bad, you realize you’re trading convenience, and profit, for the wellbeing of your life, and the prosperity of the planet we live
