The debate of “nature vs nurture” has always been one of the biggest debates of all time. Depending on parents teaching their children or the experiences they have had in their lives can have an effect on who they turn out to be, but your experience in your life. Although some traits may be passed down to a child from their parents, the child can choose who to become, and how they grow up to be are effects that the nurture side of the human become. So nurture forms a person more than their traits more that their parents. Experience in a person’s life can have many effects on how they act. Where they live can affect how they talk. Victor did not teach him kindness, or how to save someone without being told. He saved the girl because that's how he wanted to be treated, not because he was told it was the right thing to do. After that it became clear that the monsters experiences changed him for the worse, because he started treating other people how they have been treating him. Another way of expressing not all traits come from parents is what some people may call the “gay gene.” A person’s sexuallity preferance does not depend on what they have been taught by the parents. They have no control whether their son or daughter likes the same gender as them.
