Dear Diary, today was a wild ride. I did so much and saw Colden, the hottest bobcat around.

So, the night started off average. I woke up around 9:30 PM. I was hungry, so it was time to hunt. I live in the Deciduous Forest, so I have a large variety of organisms to choose from. I was in the mood for a jackrabbit, and quickly I picked up the scent of one.

I was well on pursuit of the rabbit when I saw a flash followed by a crack. Lighting hit as I zoomed past a tree. I quickly slid under the falling tree. Still hot on the trail of a rabbit, I ran as fast as I could. It was about 10 when I got the jackrabbit in my jaw. This is common example of what I am, a predator. Instead of eating it right there I thought I will take it to the "hangout" and eat it there while talking to some of my friends.

I knew what it was. It is a tick, a parasite. If I wouldn’t have scratched it off in time, I could have gotten a disease. It would have been an example of parasitism. The tick would have sucked my blood for food and I would have been harmed. Soon After that I made it to the "hangout".

When I got there George (The Smart "Cat") was explaining what parts of our ecosystem are super important. Most of it was, "BLAH BLAH BLAH", but this is what I picked up.

"The trees, plants, and streams are most important to our ecosystem because they provide shelter, food, tools, and air to breath. Those are mostly the biotic factors, but the abiotic factors are just as important. The soil provides nutrients and shelter while rocks provide shelter and can be used as tools." -George Meowza

I guess most of this is true. I am a consumer, I consume other consumers that normally eat the producers. And eventually the process restarts with
