George Washington was born on February 22, in 1732. He was born in Mount Vernon to a planter family. Not much is really known about George Washington's childhood. What we do know was that in his youth, he learned morals and manners form his family , and after his father had passed away, he was raised by his half-brother, Lawrence. So little is known about George Washington's past that people have made up tales, such as the infamous cherry tree myth used to teach children about honesty.

When those moments did appear, he enjoy farming and maintaining his land. He married Martha Dandridge Curtis, a widow in 1758. From his marriage with Martha, he gained his two children John who was nicknamed Jacky, and Martha who was nicknamed Patsy, they both unfortunately passed away before George Washington.

George Washington's experience with politics helped him with being president. In 1758 he served for the Virginia House of Burgesses. He also helped change the Articles of the Confederation into the constitution after he saw how they weren't working very well. Due to him helping fix American government, the Electoral college voted George Washington for president.

Arguably the most important part of George Washington's history was his presidency, as it set multiple presidents, and it started in 1789. Before he started as president he took the oath of office at the federal hall in New York. His cabinet consisted of Secretary of State Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton, Secretary of War Henry Knox, and Attorney General Edmund Randolph which he consulted with regularly. During his presidency he adopted a series of measures to reduce national debt, as well as established several peace treaties with the Native Americans.
