Gerrymandering is a drawing of district boundaries that allows a particular party an advantage over the other team. The redistricting process has three fundamental concepts; population equality, contiguity, and compactness. Gerrymandering can have different forms, such as the controlling political party dividing the opposition party into fewer districts as possible, or they can try to weaken the opposition across several districts, resulting in fewer votes. Another strategy is when a party tries to shape districts into combing the votes for the party in charge.
