The Gettysburg Address The Gettysburg address, what is it? It talks about the stuff that president Abraham Lincoln had to go through at the time period of 1893. In the next few paragraphs I will be talking about 3 different types of words about the speech and what they mean to me. A new nation. That it means to me is that back in the 17th century there was a thing called segregation, and what it did was it separated the African Americans from the white people. Everyone in that time period hated the African population and wanted them wiped off the map.
