Trust is when an individual believes in another individual or the individual feels the integrity or another individual is reliable. It allows the patients and providers to understand and work with one another. It is important for patient and provider trustful relationships because it helps patients be willing to follow the provider instruction. Trust happen when patients feel that provider is capable and competent in helping them. According to the book, the different levels of trust are general and specific (Servellen, 2009) . According to the authors of these book, “General trust is the trust that individuals have of other people in a global sense” and “Specific trust, the trust an individual has of another person in a specific relationship”
