People tend to stereotype Greek organizations as groups that promote ideocracy. Although, this may be true for some chapters. The clear majority of Greek organizations are built on ideals that promote positivity. Every college campus needs to have spirited students to promote positivity. College campuses thrive on the pride that Greek organizations provide. Greek organizations have many positive traits that tend to be overlooked. Greek organizations should not be banned from college campuses.

Every college student has a craving to be proud of the school they attend. Being proud of your chosen college is unbelievably important to your academic well-being. NFHS quotes, “Principals overwhelmingly believe it is important that they personally build school spirit at their school (89%) and that higher levels of school spirit are tied to higher student achievement” (NFHS). Greek organizations are one of the great assets in generating school spirit. “Greek life helps …, and is a critical asset to forging GW school spirit” (GW Hatchet). School spirit is an essential element in one’s academic well-being and overall happiness with their college. For school spirit to continue rising Greek organizations must stay on campus. Banning Greek organizations from college campuses is unacceptable. This is because Greek philanthropies would be terminated. Therefore, generating no money for these important fundraisers. The college won’t be taking advantage of the publicity that these philanthropies bring. More importantly, overall school spirit would plummet. Causing a decline in the desire for students achieve. Only by keeping Greek organizations on campus can they impact the surrounding community in a positive way and promote school
