In this week's reading, we were assigned to read through part 1 and a portion of part 2 of Habits of Grace by David Mathis. One thing that really stood out to me in this reading was the correlation between knowing God better and enjoying Him more. This is something that I hadn't really thought about before, but it is a prominent point in this book and I definitely know see this and agree with it.

The basis of part 1 of the book is hearing God's voice through His Word. His Word is not only the Scriptures, but it is also the Gospel message and the person of Jesus Christ. Knowing the Word is imperative to all believers, because without knowing the Word one cannot grow spiritually, preach the gospel to themselves, or truly know and enjoy Christ.
