In a situation where a person refuses to take medication you need to act professionally and considerately as there may be a reason for the patient not wanting to take their medicine, as a health and social carer, you will try and talk to the patient and find out why they don’t want to take their medication, you will need to tell your supervisor and record that the patient has not taken their medication.
