My Take on Hinduism
Ever since early times there has been some sort of religion found throughout societies. Religions give people ideas on how they are to live, what they are to do, and where they end up after death. Religion is one of the main factors that drive people, giving them something to live for. Hinduism gives the people of India a way of living, they try to get rid of their karma day by day. There are many gods which allows each person to choose their own path. Unlike religions in America, such as Christianity, Hinduism does not have a church. There are many popular beliefs on what Hinduism is and how it is to be practiced, so having one church would be conflicting. Some of the popular parts of what it is to follow Hinduism has to do with the Ganges River, what Puja is, and how the Caste system separates the people of India. Hinduism is a major part of Indian culture because it provides Hindus a holly place such as the Ganges River, gives them gods to worship through puja, and puts people in a social order.

This castes system also decides what someone will come back as, if you were rich you would stay rich unless something happened in your funeral. It also decides who you get to marry and where you would work. If you fell for someone of a higher or lower class you could not be together. I choose this part of Hindu culture because it is a huge part. If it didn’t exist then people would be able to work their way up and get a better job or marry the love of their life. This doesn’t connect to my life, because in America there is no system saying that since I’m the daughter of a meat cutter I have to be a meat cutter. In my life I can choose what job I want, and work towards
