On February 12, 1809 near Hodgenville, Kentucky A young boy named Abraham Lincoln was born to Thomas and Nancy Lincoln. He was born in a one room cabin with his older sister Sarah. When he was two they moved to Knob Creek. He was sent to school and loved reading. But his teachers were under educated and did not know the answers to all of his question. In April of that year he also joins a militia. He loses the election. In 1833 he becomes a postmaster. Than he decides to open a business with a man named Berry. Soon the business goes into debt. In 1834 Lincoln runs for Leisulater and comes in second and wins won of the four chairs. As they are trying to pay off debt Berry dies in 1835. Which leaves Lincoln to pay off all of the debt. It took many years but Lincoln ultimately pays it all off. In 1836 he becomes a lawyer he ends up joining John Todd Stuarts successful law firm. In 1837 Lincoln moves to Springfield. While he is legislator a man is killed in a mob and then there were new laws put in place. In 1839 he gets the capital moved to Springfield. In 1838 he talks about slavery and how he disapproves of it. In December 1839 he meets Mary Todd his future wife. On November 4, 1842 he marries Mary Todd. In 1843 there first son is born. 1844 they buy their first house together. 1846 he runs for congress in August he is elected. In 1850 there second son dies. 1854 he is elected for a second term. The states that had slaves were worried Abraham Lincoln would win and knowing he did not like the idea of slavery. So the southern states started seceded from the united states and
