Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador who caused a lot of chaos for the Aztec empire, which caused the fall of the empire. There are so many factors of the Aztec empire such as sacrifices, religion, disease, and tactics. Killing thousands of people is never good enough for any society. Aztecs were not the first to sacrifice humans but they were first to sacrifice so many humans. Makes you wonder how different things would be now and would it keep the Aztec empire from falling. Sacrificing led to hatred of some people in the surrounding areas. Some of the people most hated people were from the powerful city-state called Tlaxcala.

Cortes left to go fight the team off, an Aztec riot started in the capital city Tenochtitlan. Cortes demanded Montezuma to end the riot, before that could be done he was hit by a stone and died. The Spanish were kicked out of the city.
Cortes arranged new teams and returned to Tenochtitlan in 1951, after three months everything fell apart, Mexico City was built and settled with the Spanish and became the Centre of Spanish America. Cortes gained control and messed it all up and caused millions of deaths due to small pox. Cortes was named governor and captain general of New Spain in 1523.
Amid Spanish started to fear that he was becoming too powerful, demanded him to return to Spain where the king renamed him as capital general, but he was no longer civil governor. As he was returning to Mexico his activities were monitored and privileges were restricted. He continued to search America to find a place to rule but failed, discovered and started ruling California.
