Joseph Stalin’s earlier years consisted of him providing aid to the United States and showing support to the Russian revolution. Later on in life, it guided him towards becoming the leader of the Soviet Union. Under the leadership of Stalin, twenty million lives were ended due to execution. Stalin faced a variety of challenges from the moment he was born. He faced a series of misfortunate events from being born as a premature, contracting small pox which led to scares being left on his face , and being permanently deformed due to a carriage injury. Although Stalin had a rocky start in life, he was determined to make the best of his life and become the greatest due to being bullied. Joseph's mother was encouraging him to join seminary school. In 1888, she managed to enroll him in church school in Gori. Joseph did well in school, and his efforts gained him a scholarship to Tiflis Theological Seminary in 1894 ( “Joseph Stalin”). Although he was very successful in seminary school,Stalin joined a political group and 1898 which led him to leave school in 1899. Stalin changed into a completely different person after he joined the group. Joseph Stalin excelled in the mundane operations of the revolution, calling meetings, publishing leaflets and organizing strikes and demonstrations.
