Latin America and Asia: Change vs. Continuity over Time During the time period between 1750 to 1914 Africa, Asia, and Latin American all underwent some changes. There was more change found in one than in the others, as well as very little change observed in another of the places. Latin America changed the most out of the three places and there was more continuity over time in Asia. Over the course of this time period, a number of changes occur in their social, economic, and political aspects of Latin America. Starting with economic, the industrialization of Europe had a positive effect on the economy in Latin America and lead to economic prosperity. For one, there was an increased demand of goods in Europe from Latin America which included mining products, food crop, and some specialized tropical crops. The only major changes in politics in China were the resignation of the Qing dynasty. In Japan, feudalism was abolished along with the civil code and regional governments. Nationalism also began to rise in Asia. From an economic standpoint, the only changes were labor provided for plantations and mines and the industrialization of Japan. As for social, the strict Tokogawa hierarchy ended and the middle class grew. The only other major things which occurred included the opium wars, the boxer rebellion in China, and imperialism on the Japanese mainly from Taiwan, Korea, and Russia. Other than that, there was not much change which happened in Asia during the time from 1750 to 1914. Undergoing many changes in economic, social, and political aspects in Latin America, it is clear that this would be the winner for change over time. The prosperity lead to new opportunities and changes overall, whereas in Asia, there was not much which occurred during this time
