How Did Paul Revere Impact America

Growing up, Paul Revere looked up to his father greatly. His father, Apollos, was one of the colonies greatest silversmiths. Over the years Paul had learned a great deal about being an outstanding craftsman. Once the revolutionary war came about though, young Revere gave up on being a silversmith for the time being to help his fellow colonists fight. Many years passed and things started to calm down in the Americas, allowing Paul to go back to his job from before, Being a silversmith. As he slowly moved back into this occupation, he discovered a way to develop sheets of copper, making him the first man in America to do so. Although this greatly impacted America, Paul Revere also made a huge impact on many colonists lives and the outcome of the revolutionary war.

This ride is basically what allowed the American Patriots to win one of the most well known Revolutionary Battles. On a late April night, Paul Revere was ordered by a man with the name of Joseph Warren to go and warn the Colony Minutemen as well as the rest of the colonists. All of this was in prepare of the British showing up, as signals had been posted along with calls being made between people. Because of him alerting the men that would fight, they were able to be prepared by the time the British Soldiers, also known as the Redcoats, had gotten there. Although he was extremely important in this situation, he did not gain fame for it until 1861, when Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a well known poet during the 1800’s, released ‘Paul Revere’s Ride’, a poem that described the importance of that Midnight Ride. Once people began reading this poem, they had begun to understand the good that Revere he had done and ended up appreciating it a great deal.
