After the American colonies declared its independence from the British in the American Revolutionary war, economic, social, and political change occurred in the colonies and greatly affected the future of this new country. First, the war took a huge toll on the economy of America and disrupted their trading system. Also, the Revolution changed the societies for slaves, citizens, and Native Americans and it also ensured citizenship for the American people. Finally, the American Revolution failed to create a secure and sound government that would lead to a faulty American society and political structure. These changes and developments shaped the future of this evolving country.
The Revolutionary War took a huge toll on the economy of the colonies. After the war between the colonies and Britain, many countries cut America from their trade. The income of money being brought into the colonies plummeted, giving the colonies a deep debt but a victorious win over the British. Some businesses did well during the war, such as blacksmiths and weaponries, while others amassed …show more content…
Many ideas were offered up during the drafting of the constitution of America, but none were as important as the checks and balances. This idea introduced two parties: the Federalists and the Anti-Federalists. The Federalists were mainly wealthy people who believed in a large country wide government. Anti-Federalists were the opposite. They were mainly common people who wanted state wide governments and representation. They feared of becoming too much like the British government and took precautions to make sure they didn’t.
