Brutus and Atony Funeral Speech
Caesar was an honorable man. Almost everyone liked him. But he was getting too controlling. Getting too much power too fast. Brutus and Antony both had speeches were making Caesar seem like he has a good man.
They both use pathos to make the audience feel certain ways. Brutus uses pathos by having them to agree why it was right to kill Caesar. He says “had you rather Caesar was living and die all slaves, than that Caesar dead to live all free men” Act 3 Scene 2 lines 22-23. He is basically saying would you rather be a slave under Caesar or be a free person with him dead. Antony uses pathos to make the audience feel sad since Caesar is dead. He makes them sad by saying “my heart is in the coffin with Caesar, and I must pause till it comes back to me” Act 3 Scene 2 lines 104-105. He is saying that I feel bad that Caesar is dead and I will miss him and I cannot say anything until I can get my words back. They both use pathos to try and persuaded the people to agree with them.
