Human nature is an instinct that any human has, whether they want it or not. In the world there are many different forms of human nature and these different forms can have different outcomes. For example, in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the author reveals different aspects of human nature and what it can lead to. In Shakespeare's play, a pair of star crossed lovers commit suicide after falling “in love,” after discovering they are from each other’s rival families. This tragic love story takes place in Verona, where a family feud between the Montagues and Capulets begins new violence, this new violence and feud finally ends after the children’s death. Many times throughout the story a sword or knife is taken out in order to threaten or kill others due to the recent events. An example of this violence is in Act III Scene I of Romeo and Juliet when Tybalt threatens then fights Mercutio over Romeo’s presence at the Capulet masquerade. Romeo then states “Gentlemen, for shame! Forbear this outrage. Tybalt, Mercutio! The Prince expressly hath. Forbidden bandying in Verona streets.” explaining how the two men need to stop fighting due to the Prince’s ban of battling in the streets. The cause of this violence could have be stopped but due to human nature, it overruled common sense causing the men to continue. This demonstrates the effect of human nature has on our actions to even the smallest things. For instance in Act III Scene III of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo brandishes others around him with a knife after he gets banished from the city of Verona and Juliet. In any situation there is more than one viewpoint of it and to resolve it, a correct use of communication must be used. Take for example in Act V Scene I of Romeo and Juliet, where Romeo is told about Juliet’s death yet knew the letter from Friar Lawrence, a close friend to both Romeo and Juliet, has not arrived. Romeo quickly assumes Juliet is dead and jumps to conclusions without any verification. The communication between Romeo, Juliet, and Friar Lawrence is not correct and causes confusion which leads up to Romeo’s death. Another example of incorrect use of communication, is the ancient grudge, or family feud, between the Montagues and Capulets. However, the reasons for this family feud is unknown, communication could be used to end the grudge, set aside differences, or lessen the family feuds violence between each other. In some cases communication does not work but should be used in problem solving techniques to correct situations and avoid the negative
