The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria is an extremist militant group that are lead and composed of Sunni Arabs from Iraq and Syria. ISIS believes that they are the ones that must restore the caliphate. A caliphate is an islamic state under the rule of scholars guided by a leader, Muhammad Ali. ISIS recently became a threat during the aftermath of the U.’s occupation of Iraq, and after al-Baghdadi himself was imprisoned by U.S. forces in Iraq. But where does ISIS get funded?
