The use of rhetorical devices on documents, essays, speeches etc… helps by giving phrases emotions and style while persuading a specific topic. In the “Infamy Speech” given by Franklin D. Roosevelt, Franklin used diction, repetition and pathos to inform the American people about the dreadful Japanese attack and to portray a hurting and mournful climate to the speech in order to convince the people that the Japanese forces were malignant and Congress was going to declare war against them.
