Insanity is one of the major themes in “Night”. Insanity is a motif to prophecy, and we are given an example of this through the character Mrs. Schächter. The Holocaust also ruined people, and this is seen throughout the book when many people lost faith, and all hope in life. In the book “Night”, some people are seen as insane, when in reality they just know more than all the others.
