I questioned two different school-age children. Isaiah who is a 9-year-old boy and Dana, who is a 16-year-old girl. They both answered questions on the Kohlberg’s Heinz experiment and the friendship interview. They both have some similar and different answers on both. There answers show where their moral judgement and social cognition is. On the Kohlberg Heinz experiment of whether or not Heinz should steal the drugs, Isaiah overall answered it is not his to steal no matter who it is for. He said Heinz should not steal the drugs because he can go to jail. When I asked if it was his obligation to steal, he was not sure. He also was unsure how to answer if Heinz love or don’t love his wife, should he steal it? But Isaiah answered if he loved someone, like his mom, he would help but without getting in trouble. He said that if Heinz steal for a stranger, it would not be right to do so. Even his pet, he said, he would not steal for his pet but he would ask his parents to help save them.
