Many years ago, Jackie Robinson became the first African American player to play in the Major League Baseball. “Jackie was born January 31, 1919, in Georgia”. “Jackie had four siblings: Mack, Willa Mae, Edgar, and Frank”. Him and his family were sharecroppers. “Jackie’s dad ran off a couple months after he was born; his mother decided to leave and move to California, so her children would have a better life”. “When Jackie went to school, his friends bribed him to join their sport teams. While still in school, Jackie and the white children both got equal playing time in the games”. This quote shows how how being the first African American to play baseball, makes people look at another race and not have segregation exist. This quote shows that Jackie Robinson rose to the top of the color barrier list, because he broke it.
