Joan of Arc was from France. She was born in 1412 in the village of Domremy. Her exact date of birth is unknown. She was highly religious and a very determined woman. She is famous for rousing the French against the English during the Hundred Years War.

Her childhood was during the wars between the French and English the Black Prince or King Henry V earned such fame as this young French girl. Her father would tell her of the sad condition of France and how it was in the possession of England. She came to to think how she pities her country. She started having visions and voices that were telling her that she can deliver the land from the English, to go to the relief of King Charles. She started to believe she had a mission from God so she became determined to save France.

People started believing in her “mission” and stopped discouraging her some people helped fund her trip to the town of Chinon, where King Charles was living. He received her and listened to what she had to say very attentively. She spoke with a calming belief that she was right but talked about it very modestly. She said,” Gracious King, my name is Joan. God sent me to deliver France from her enemies, You shall shortly be crowned in the cathedral of Rheims. I am to lead the soldiers you are about to send …show more content…
