John Wilkes Booth had a master plan of killing none other than the 16th president of the united states of America. With the help of many he accomplished his goal. Lewis Powell stabbed the Secretary of State, William H. Seward, but he still lived. David Herold could be identified as the main accomplice in the escape, he didn't kill or injure anyone. Samuel Mudd also helped Booth during his escape but was in denial of ever knowing Booth. Thomas Jones, one of the most famous confederate spies of the civil war, helped Booth and Herold hide in the woods for 6 days and sold his boat so that they could travel to Virginia. Laura Keene was performing the night of April 14th 1865, when Lincoln got shot she ran up to the where the president was located
