The career i chose is a Kindergarten Teacher. I chose this career because I love being around kids. Kindergarten teachers have multiple tasks that their job requires them to do each day. Kindergarten teachers have to teach children how to act in a classroom setting, help them learn types of social behavior, also they teach children the basic knowledge you need to be ready for first grade. Teachers are required to watch the children very carefully while they are in her care, also you’ll need to plan creative hands-on assignments for the children each day, since they’re so young their minds have different learning styles then someone older.
Kindergarten teachers have many different skills. Teachers need to be skilled at presenting themselves and their attitude towards learning to students, they are suppose to present learning in a fun way so that the younger children will be intrigued by it and want to learn. Another thing kindergarten teachers should be skilled at is having patience, patience is not an aptitude for everyone, some people have to practice and learn to have patience and since you’ll be working with a young group you’ll need to have patience because they may not understand everything right away. A Bachelor’s Degree, with student teaching experience is also required. Kindergarten teachers aslo have to have a State Teaching Certificate to work in public schools.
