In the play “ King Henry IV Part 1” Shakespeare depicts Hal as a careless, irresponsible, and boisterous character. The importance of deception is a significant theme in the play because it shows how the characters deceive themselves and a major part of Hal’s reformation. Prince Harry disguises himself between the world of court and the world of tavern in order to give the readers a better understanding of both languages. Moreover, the relationship between King Henry and Prince Hal is very weak because Prince Hal has not lived up to the family’s expectation, as he would bring shame to his family's name by not doing his responsibilities as a Prince. The audience understands the reason why Hal is behaving as a wild character because Hal’s soliloquy …show more content…
In the beginning of the Twelfth Night Play King Lear is depicted as a evil and ill tempered character because of the way he treats Cordelia for not showing her love toward him. In fact when he banishes her he said “ For by the sacred radiance of the sun, The mysteries of Hecate and the night, By all the operation of the orbs From whom we do exist and cease to be Here I disclaim all my paternal care, Propinquity, and property of blood, And as a stranger to my heart and me Hold thee from this for ever. The barbarous Scythian, Or he that makes his generation messes To gorge his appetite, shall to my bosom Be as well neighbored, pitied, and relieved As thou my sometime daughter” (Shakespeare act scene 1). Shakespeare’s language is the major difficulty that me and the rest of my group faced. Moreover, because the language was hard to read it made it difficult for me to understand and grasp the main theme of the play. The play resents me in a person level because the main idea that Shakespeare intends the readers to understand is that the transition in life is better than remaining the same person because you gain more self knowledge and most importantly, you gain moral growth. I can relate this to my personal life because I had to transition from a teenager into adulthood and this helped me to understand myself better and understand the values of things in life. The project has helped me to better understand the play because I am able to use it in modern day language which makes it easier and more sufficient. The roles that I undertook in the project is helping my partners to come up with a good thesis that we all understand and be able to find arguments in the play. I was also responsible in finding creative ways to make our performance more appealing. The character that I choose to play is Hotspur because the language he uses is not difficult and most importantly, he plays a major role especially the battle between Hal. The battle is the last transformation of Hal and the only way to show his father and the audience that he is no longer the man in the beginning of the play. The high
