When you think of men going into war you would probably think of US army men with an assortment of camouflage clothing on. However, during the Middle Ages it's pretty obvious that they don’t have camouflage resources (OI). Samurai and knights are the two main types of warriors in the japanese and european countries (Doc. C). To conclude, the differences between the knights and samurai are almost the same as the similarities but a little higher. One of the high differences is the feudal charts. The purpose of the feudal charts was to show the order of how “popular” the people were. For example the lowest on the japanese feudal chart was the merchants and on the european it was the peasant serfs (Doc.A). Merchants were viewed lowly because they were seen as cheating others of their money (OI). On the European feudal chart the peasants are lower than the ones on the japanese feudal chart. On the European feudal chart they have something called lesser lords. Then on the japanese feudal chart they have nothing similar to the “lesser lords”. First off the samurai armor has only one sleeve because they use one arm for shooting arrows so they think that armor would get in the way. Knights armor was made of an assortment of chain mail while samurai was made of small iron scales that were tied together (Doc. D). On the samurai helmet there was two spikes that shot up from the head and the knight helmet was one that you probably imagine when you think of knights. Knights armor weighed so much, usually up to 40 to 60 pounds. Samurai’s armor was made of silk also so whenever they would get wet it would weigh a ton.
