Three elderly women form a ladies crime club and commit a series of jewelry heists.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

Friends and roommates, DAPHNE DUPREE and ROSE SMITH, are financially desperate. Daphne was once a famous actress, but now she struggles to find a role. Rose has a secret shoplifting habit.

Daphne’s nephew, BRYAN SMITH (30’s), a gay man, works for Congressman BOBBY BARDELL (40’s), who is desperate to win votes in the next election. Bardell is a fan of Daphne and wants Bryan to introduce them.

JUSTINE TAYLOR, the widow of actor James Taylor, is forced to move out of her home and into her son’s home. CARTER TAYLOR (20’s) is a public defender. Justine hovers over Carter and knows she needs to find her own place.

Rose and Justine become friends and Rose invites her to come live with them. Justine agrees to move in with Rose and Daphne only if they all agree to be honest with each other. Rose admits to stealing, but Daphne has already suspected that she was shoplifting.

The women suddenly come up with an idea to form a club: the Ladies Crime Club. They will steal small amounts of jewelry. Their plan doesn’t go well in the beginning, but they finally pull a jewerly heist off. They hide the jewels in a coffee can.

Daphne agrees to meet Bardell, but is disappointed when she realizes that he only really wants an introduction to John Simpsons, who runs a political channel. He needs his support. Daphne doesn’t know how Bryan can work for such an amoral politician.

When the girls leave the apartment, Bryan and Bardell let themselves inside. Bryan finds the hidden jewelry inside the coffee tin. Bryan and Bardell conclude they must be stolen. Bardell reassures Bryan he will take care of it. However, the cops show up at the apartment and arrest the women. JUDGE APPLEBAUM, a fan of Daphne, releases the women on bail.
